Despite humble beginnings, Visit North Korea has rose to become the fastest growing North Korean travel organisation on social media. It has been a magnificent journey, with its ups and its downs; but now, a new dawn arises, one which will revolutionize the world of how we think, act and engage with the world's most secretive country. We are about to embark on a new adventure, and you are too.
Often, we fall into a trap of making sweeping judgments about a country we know nothing concerning its history, politics, culture or society. We think we have the right to trial this country from our armchairs, to force it to accept our way of life, on our terms. Day by day, we fail to challenge and question the world around us, taking the assumptions and generalizations which drive our thinking for granted, sometimes mocking and scorning those who dare to think differently. But say no more, because that is why we are here. We want to change that, and we have a vision.
Our vision, Visit North Korea's vision, is for you to learn and think about the world in ways you never thought were possible. We invite you, calmly and confidently, to step outside of the cozy Western Bubble you have been sealed in. We desire to deliver to you an understanding of a people, history, a culture and a people at an objective, expert and critical angle. This is not about simple sightseeing or trivial tourism, this is about the opportunity to build new bridges. Our impetus is to show the world that North Korea is not a man, a bomb, a prison camp, or a war; but a nation with over 5000 years of history shared with their Southern brothers, why should that be hidden from the world?
We dream that North Korea and the world can come together, we can make that difference.
